Marigold is a personal narrative of femininity in Jazz from my perspective as a female jazz trombonist. With this album, I hope to have the privilege of speaking musically to likeminded people and simply contributing to our artistic ecosystem. The opportunity to put my stories into a project that could potentially connect with others in a positive manner is fuel for this project.

With titles like “Glass Ceilings,” and “I Wish You Walked Me Home,” my ultimate goal is to create the most authentic art to my life, while celebrating jazz culture and challenging the embedded stereotypes surrounding femininity in jazz.​
